thoughts from today's reading:

Dodd (cited by Adam Clarke, The Holy Bible with A Commentary) shows that it would have been possible for Adam and Eve, in the more than 100 years he estimates may have elapsed since their union, to have had over 32,000 descendants at the time Cain went to Nod, all of them having sprung from Cain and Abel, who married their sisters. -for sure more people around than i have pictured in my head - i wonder if early people lived as long as they did to help populate the earth
- Genesis 6 6And the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved at heart. -how incredibly sorrowful god must have been...
- Genesis 6 12And God looked upon the world and saw how degenerate, debased, and vicious it was, for all humanity had corrupted their way upon the earth and lost their true direction. -I wonder if today times are worse, way worse, or not even close
